Study Visits are only available to booked schools.

Once registered by using the booking form on this site, you will be contacted by a member of our education team to discuss your precise needs. Please give us as much information as possible on the booking form to enable us to make your visit a useful and successful one.

Supporting Teachers Notes and Resources, including Trail Guides and pre-visit video resources, can be downloaded from this site once you have made your booking.

Teachers registering will be invited to attend a facilitated walk-through of the permanent collection in advance of their visit. You will be able to talk to a member of the team, discuss the schools support programme and plan your visit day in detail.

A typical day for a registered school would be:

10.30: Check in at the Information Desk. Visit the Forum which will be your base for the day. A member of the collection team will brief your students on what to expect during the day, the importance of the visit, objectives and suggestions for minimising disturbance with members of the public.

11.00: Students tour the permanent collection using one of the Trail Guides available for download from this site.

12.00: Lunch break. There is an excellent cafe at the collection and a number of external locations in the area. Registered groups may use the Forum as a base for sandwich-style meals and we operate a self-clear system and ask for rubbish to be disposed of thoughtfully.

12.45: Student Workshop in the Forum.

15.30: Depart.
